Why Do I have to Pay for
Science Fees ?
All Students WILL pay a $4.00 breakage fee for the entire
school year.

The science $4.00 breakage fee covers the cost of repairs and
replacement of broken equipment.  For Example: If your child
ACCIDENTALLY breaks a three hundred dollar microscope
and he/she has paid their four dollar breakage fee, then they
will not be asked to replace the broken microscope.

In addition to the $4.00 breakage fee:
1.  Students in HONOR Science Classes WILL pay an
additional $8.00 laboratory fee for the year. (This is a high
school class fee that is broken down as $7.00 lab fee and $1.00
special fee. This $1 fee helps to pay for science reading
magazines.)
Total Fee: $12.00

2.  Students in Gifted 6th Greade Science Classes WILL pay an
additional $6.00 laboratory fee for the year. (This is a general
science lab/class fee that is broken down as $5.00 lab materials
fee and $1.00 special fee. This $1 fee helps to pay for science
reading magazines.)
Total Fee: $10.00

These fees covers the cost of dissection equipment and
specimens, consumable materials, and other items such as -
advanced laboratory equipment, rock samples and chemical
supplies.

Unfortunately, last year the school had over $900 in bounced
checks so they are not allowing us to accept checks - So the fees
MUST be paid in cash.

Students WILL treat all science materials and "art" supplies
with respect and care.

Any materials inappropriately used or equipment that is
destroyed with intent WILL BE REPLACE BY THE
STUDENT.

All Students WILL learn to use care when handling all
scientific equipment, such as chemicals, glassware, scales and
disection equipment.
